Mora Ice Cream Makes Food & Wine’s List of “Best in the U.S.”
(Bainbridge Island, Wash.) Mora Iced Creamery, a Bainbridge Island original, has added Food & Wine’s “Best Ice Cream in the U.S.” to its list of recent accolades.
The artisan ice cream company, founded in 2004 by Argentinians Ana Orselli and Jerry Perez, credit the Mora difference to their dedication to creating an ice cream experience reminiscent of an era when everything was made from scratch. Made exclusively at their Bainbridge Island production facility, Mora’s secret is owed to using only the freshest ingredients available. Mora’s sorbets use fresh hand-squeezed lemons, limes and grapefruits. By blending whole milk with fresh cream, using pure cane sugar, and premium chocolate from Belgium, the old-world, artisanal process produces a full-flavored ice cream with the added benefit of lower butterfat than most premium ice creams.
